M610 OEM ink cartridge replacement steps

Repair and Maintenance

Cartridge storage

  1. Cartridges should be stored at room temperature (the ambient temperature of the printing system) with a deviation of ±5°C. Temperatures of 18-25°C and relative humidity of 35-55 % are ideal storage conditions.
  2. If the printer will not be used for any length of time, it is recommended to remove the ink cartridge from the base and store it in an optional protective cap (to prevent the nozzles from drying out). (Wolke art. no.660035)

Cleaning the ink cartridges

The ink cartridges need to be cleaned before reinserting them, or if the quality of the printed image deteriorates significantly.

1.Before replacing the ink cartridges, check their appearance for leaks! (Make sure the ink is not leaking.)

2.Check the appearance of the contact film for oxidation and mechanical damage.

3.Do not use an ink cartridge if it is not in proper working condition.

4.If necessary, replace the ink cartridges.

Maintenance information

If there is dirt on the nozzle plate, use a damp absorbent, lint-free cotton cloth to     remove the dirt alone. Use only deionized or distilled water to dampen the cloth.

Optional cleaning kit (Art. nr. 660040). Before reinserting the ink cartridge, make sure it is dry.

Notice

Do not use solvents or liquids other than deionized or distilled water to clean the cartridges.

Replace the ink cartridge

Insert Wolke cartridges into various sprinkler heads

The cartridge is driven by a stylus on the nozzle. These styluses in the new sprinkler head can sometimes be a little dull. This dullness will be removed soon after the first few uses of the Wolke cartridge.

Follow these steps to insert Wolke cartridges into various sprinkler heads:

Insert Wolke cartridge

1.Deactivate the m610 OEM (click the “Stop” button on the Web server).

2.If the Wolke cartridge is new, remove the protective film from the gold contactor and nozzle plate; If the cartridge is already in use, remove the protective cap.

3.Make sure not to touch the contactor plate, as any dirt will negatively affect the printed image.

4.Flip the locking lever backwards and insert the cartridge.

Press the cartridge inside vertically from the outside in.
Press down the locking lever to secure the cartridge.

Insert Wolke cartridge

Note

Do not touch the stylus (oxidation) on the nozzle or ink cartridge contact plate with your fingers. This will ensure long – term high printing quality.

If the printer will not be in use for any length of time (for example, on weekends), it is recommended to remove the cartridge from the installation and store it in an optional part protective cap (to prevent the nozzle from drying out). The time it takes for a cartridge to dry varies depending on the ink used.

Notice

Nozzle and cartridge must not contact with liquid (especially solvent).

Maintenance information

If there is dirt on the nozzle plate, use a damp absorbent, lint-free cotton cloth alone to remove the dirt. Do not use paper towels! Only use deionized water or distilled water to dampen the cloth.

Make sure the cartridge is dry before reinserting it. Do not use cleaners that contain solvents.

Replace the ink cartridge

Change the ink cartridge

Navigate to System > Settings > External I/O and set the required input to Replace the cartridge.

Notice

Cartridges are replaceable only when the m610 OEM is in “Stop” mode. Otherwise, the cartridge or sprinkler head will be damaged.

When setting the “Replace cartridge” menu, the printer will automatically enter the “Stop” mode.

Note

Error conditions can be set in Machine Parameters > Remove cartridge.

During the first trial run of the m610, the system menu was preset to use a full cartridge or bulk system.

In Figure 10_163, enter 3 to set “Replace cartridge”. If the “Low Ink Alert” is activated for output 3, it will be turned on whenever the cartridge’s preset trigger threshold is weakened.

If the signal light (optional) is connected to the 24VI/0 connector, the orange warning light will light up.
